The only fear I want to have is “Fear of the Lord”. I am human so I am not going to say I am never afraid, but more and more I am less afraid. Maybe because God didn’t drop me yet and I lived through much. And maybe because I want to live to be at the next level one day (with God for all eternity).
The gift of fear of the Lord enables a person “to avoid sin and attachment to created things out of reverence and love of God.” Primarily, this gift entails a profound respect for the majesty of God who is the supreme being. Here, a person realizes his “creatureliness” and dependency upon God, has a true “poverty of spirit,” and never would want to be separated from God, who is love.
“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
