I remember when I first fell in love with Christ. I yearned to be with Him, could spend hours before the Blessed Sacrament. I just wanted to go to heaven. Of course, God had other plans for me. Along the way I sometimes got distracted and yearned for things, and situations and desires that wasn’t a part of God’s plan for me. I am grateful that God continues to yearn for me. That when I am distracted He is not distracted. He continues to pour Himself out.
When I find myself comfortable and satisfied with my relationship with God I know I am in the wrong state of mind. I should always, always want to have more of God, know more of God, be more with God.
Thank you God for saying no to all my earthly yearnings. Thank you God for always yearning for me.
Yes, in further need of reflection. Yes, Psalm 42..
