Simple Faith A-Z – Real

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

I believe in God and this faith is real.  I believe there is a heaven, I believe there is mercy.

My faith is real.  I can’t give you faith, I can’t convince you that it is true.. I can only live my faith.  I can invite you to take a look at faith, I can pray the Holy Spirit will reveal faith to you.

As a Catholic I believe in the Real Presence of God in the Scriptures and in the Eucharist.  When I spend time with the Real Presence a relationship (I know another good R word) develops..  In that relationship I feel loved, protected and free to be me!

My aunt use to quote the part of scripture that God is either with her or against her.  She felt safe when her husband was nearby because he was a faithful man who prayed for his family and kept her closer to God as they prayed together.

My relationship is with God alone, no husband to keep me safe or close to God.  But I do find God’s protection in my faith and sometime his shows his love by sending me a faith  community.  And hopefully when I share my faith I too can share that God is love and God protects.

I remember hearing about being a temple of the Holy Spirit and Christ clearing the temple of the robbers and thieves… that Christ heals all the hurts from those who wanted to rob, steal and destroy.  So He himself chased the hurts out of the temple.

I pray for Mercy for the times I destroyed others inner peace and joy.

God is good all the time and all the time God is good — and for me that is real!  I know even in my dark hours God is there, in my light hours I know he is there…

OK my thoughts are racing and all over the place… so will need time for further reflection… Retreat is another good R word!
