Moving Mountains

Moving Mountains
“Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.” Matthew 17:20 — When it comes to mountains… I probably have more of the picture of Julie Andrews singing ‘Climb every Mountain’— Climbing takes time and work and mapping out but the mountain can stay put and I have to move. It seems ridiculous to move a mountain — like where would you put it?? [ for all you scripture scholars I know it is symbolism and not a physical mountain ] — anyway the meditation today on faith has taken me to many places and reminded me of many faith adventures.. And even though climbing a mountain to get somewhere is good, a kind of walk in faith.. sometimes God will make things simple if I trust Him to move the mountains [or move me] … Lots of other reflections but still pondering mountains.. and faith.

There is always a part 2 ..
Sometimes the view of the Mountain is being under the mountain… earthquakes happen, and all I can do is breathe and wait for the community to remove the rocks.. or maybe I am part of the community that removes the rocks for another.. sometimes it isn’t about climbing a mountain, it is about trusting God to move the mountain… Thank you God for being faithful, even with I wasn’t faithful. —
2 Timothy 2: 11-13
This saying is trustworthy:
If we have died with him
we shall also live with him;
if we persevere
we shall also reign with him.
But if we deny him
he will deny us.
If we are unfaithful
he remains faithful,
for he cannot deny himself.
